when the storm clouds roll in

You know when you have one of those weeks where all these tiny things seem to build up and buid up (with a few big things thrown in for good measure) and before you know it you feel like you're going to snap? That's how it's been for me this week. The clouds start to move in with a bit of rain here and a bit more over there. Then the light rain turns to a down-pour. Next, some lightning bolts get added to the mix and in the background of it all is the constant rolling of thunder. Before you know it the drizzle has turned into a full-blown storm. The lightning is lighting up the entire sky and the thunder crashes from every corner of the sky. What now? Where do you go for cover?

Praise You In This Storm
- Casting Crowns -
I was sure by now that you would have reached down
and wiped our tears away; stepped in and saved the day
but once again I say "Amen"
and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls I barely hear you whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as your mercy falls I raise my hands
and prase the God who gives
and takes away
I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry and You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
if I can't find You
As the thunder rolls I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
and takes away
I'll praise You in this storm and I will life my hands
for You are who You are no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes unto the hills -- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
the Maker of Heaven and Earth
I life my eyes unto the hills -- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
the Maker of Heaven and Earth
I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands
For You are who You are no matter where I am
Every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

Wow, that was really perfect for me too the way my week's been going. Not really a lot of 'storms', just an entire sick family--and I find myself questioning why God hasn't healed us even though I've been praying! Thanks for that, it almost made me cry! God is still sovereign.
