Thursday Thirteen - Things I Have Learned

Thirteen Things I Have Learned On My Two-Week Pepsi Challenge

1. Two weeks is a lot longer than it sounds!

2. This was more excruciatingly difficult than I ever thought it would be.

3. Yet I still succeeded!!

4. However, I will NEVER do this again!

5. BUT...I did learn that I can lose 3 pounds in the first week of a no Pepsi challenge

6. And that I can now tighten my belt one more notch around my waist

7. For some reason the second week is harder to lose weight

8. Probably due to beginning to replace the Pepsi cravings with other "munchies"

9. I have the most supportive and encouraging friends and family!! (thanks everybody!)

10. Withdrawal is NOT fun

11. It is possible to eat at a Fast Food joint and have water (it's possible...still doesn't make it right)

12. Pepsi has the most sweet aroma that can be smelled across the room

13. And absence really does make the heart grow fonder

This is MY can of Pepsi chilling in the fridge all day. We're making pizza tonight to help celebrate the end of the challenge. Seven hours and counting....

oh you're waiting till the end of the day?? I thought it was first thing in the morning. So you outlasted me both in days and hours:) I cracked one open this morning, and then remembered that I started a day late... Oh well, you win:)

It is amazing though that we can feel so terrible in withdrawal from something so "not quite as deadly as cigarettes, and yet so common" as Pop. I had headaches basically for the last week. Woke up this morning with a headache, and drank some coke, and headache has left. Unbelievable.

Congratulations on making it through the 2 weeks.

Sheldon...technically I could've had a Pepsi at 12:01AM -- believe me, I was tempted to set my alarm. :) But Les really wanted to celebrate with me, so I decided to wait till supper. I know I'll be tempted this afternoon to have a Pepsi (and then another one at supper), but I don't want to over-do it on my first day. So I'm staying strong.

Thanks again for doing this with me. It definitely helped me!!

I can identify, except I've always been a Coca-Cola girl. When I found out several weeks ago that I'm diabetic, I dropped pop completely...even diet pop, because I hate diet pop! I do miss my Coke, but I've found that I enjoy the tasty diet teas.

Congratulations on meeting the Pepsi Challenge. I'm sure your Pepsi tonight will be a real treat. I used to drink a LOT of soda, but not anymore. I do occassionally still imbibe with a Diet Pepsi, caffeine free.

Loved your 13. We can learn a lot about ourselves when we think about it.

I'm so proud of you and so happy for you! That Pepsi is just moments away! In the term of a baby's life...two weeks is so short...when you are giving up something like Pepsi, boy is it forever! Way to go though for sticking with it and making it to the end! You are awesome!
