miscellaneous monday #2

(consider yourself warned: this post is really long...but I hope you still read it!)
I am starting off this edition of Miscellaneous Monday with a high-five I got from Xandra. It's an Archive meme Hoopla and this is how Xandra explains why she did it:

"I know that when I find a new blog that I want to visit again, I rarely have enough time to go back and read everything from the beginning (although sometimes I do!). I want to get to know that person, but it's hard to commit to reading all of the posts from the last 2 years! This meme is designed to make some of those old posts readily available to those who may be new to your blog, or even those who are regulars, just not from the start."

Well put, Xandra! And without further ado, here are the rules:

Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. But there is a catch:

Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself.
Link 4 must be about something you love.
Link 5 can be anything you choose.

Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better. Readers - don’t forget to read the archive posts and leave comments!

It was fun going back and looking at some of my earlier posts. I had a hard time choosing, so for some of them there are multiple links....I hope you'll check them all out! (and if you're reading this right after I posted it, just give me time to make sure the links all work...if they don't, make sure you come right back once I've fixe them)

About Family: I am choosing the post To My Mom which was one of my first posts. It is a tribute to my mom for Mother's Day. And I can't leave out The Fathers In My Life which was my Father's Day tribute. I'm also choosing I'm B-a-a-a-a-c-k because...well, just because I want to!

About Friends: Ice Cream, Anyone? is a post about an annual summer get-together with friends of ours.

About Myself: This one is easy: Happy 100th -- my 100th post which lists 100 things about me.

Something I Love: Ticklig the Ivories and How I've Been Spending My Time talks about my love of piano. But then of course there's my incredible love for Pepsi. So, here are the links to the posts of my two week Pepsi challenge....My Two Week Challenge, Misery Loves Company, There is Something Seriously Wrong With This Picture, Thursday Thirteen: Things I Have Learned, Reunited...At Last.

Anything I Choose: The Healing Power of a Band-Aid and The Ultimate Weather Man are two of my favorite posts.

And now I am going to high-five: Jenn, Marie, Daphne, Lena, and Lisa's Chaos.

Whew! That took awhile. Moving right along...this is something I found over at Leeann's site. I didn't actually get high-fived for this, but it looked interesting so I'm diving right in:

1. Would you eat spoiled food from the garbage, or go hungry?
That depends on just how hungry I was. I'm a somewhat picky eater as it is, so I'd have to be close to starving to actual death before digging into spoiled food from the garbage.

2. Would you make one adult film, if it meant that you would never have to work again?
No way. Not even if I had the body for it.

3. In your relationship, you find out that a baby has been conceived. One of you wants the baby, the other doesn't. Who has the right to choose?
Who has the right to choose if the baby lives or gets aborted? Nobody.
Who has the right to choose whether the couple raises the baby or gives him up for adoption? It would entirely depend on the circumstances.

4. You are in a serious accident in the middle of nowhere and you only chance of survival is to cut off your own arm. Would you do it?
I'd probably want to, in order to stay alive. But if it really came down to it, no, I don't think I'd have the courag to do it.

5. Do you think it is important to tell the truth, or spare someone's feelings?
It depends on the situation. Normally I'd say tell the truth -- but there are times when a little white lie is okay.

6. What is something you find yourself constantly thinking about?
Is it too soon to have another Pepsi?

7. If your house was on fire, what is the one thing you would have to save (of course, I am assuming that all people/pets are safe)?
Photo albums, of course. Everything else can be replaced (even my Friend's DVD's).

8. Forgive and forget? Or forget to forgive?
I can forgive fairly easily (if the person who wronged me was truly sorry)...but forgetting? Let's just say I'm working on it!

9. Why are you best friends with your best friend?
He loves me unconditionally and can always make me smile.

10. Name one challenge you are faced with on a regular basis.
Losing weight.

11. Do you think its possible to only love one person for the rest of your life?
Definitely. That was God's plan.

12. If you had the skills, what is your dream job?
Interior decorator

13. What is your favorite quote/saying/scripture?
"Some days you're the bug, some days the windshield."

Okay- the next one I was high-fived for is called ABCDE links from Melanie and here it is:

Rule #1
Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an ” A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.
22. V.
25. Y.

Replaced link:

(I hope I did that one right!)

Rule #2
You now have to “high-five” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community. TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system.

For this one I am high-fiving: Pam (Can't Wait Till It's Over), Xandra, Lisa, and Regina.

And now I move on to the awards portion of this post. I didn't actually think I would have any awards for today until I got the following from Melanie:

The "E for Excellent" award I shall pass on to Jenn.

And "You Make My Day" award goes to my dear friend Pam.

And I think that wraps up this edition of Miscellaneous Monday (if I've forgotten anything, please call me on it!). If you want to join in and play catch-up with any tags (high-fives) and awards from the previous week, go visit Melanie and sign up under Mr. Linky so others can check them out (only on her blog, it's called Meme Monday).

I did this on my blog too. I did not think I was going to have anything to do and then all of a sudden --bam!
Phew--glad it is over.
I felt like I should give an award just for getting through the post.
And no--I did not tag anyone.
I am bad that way.:)

Thanks for the award! That's so sweet of you. I will get to doing the meme and I have yet to go and read your favorite posts that you've linked to but I do plan to. Seems this bloggy giveaway deal is consuming a lot of my time. Have you seen the hundreds of giveaways!? I've been checking them out off and on throughout the day but it looks like it could take me all week.

Hi Andrea - you left a comment on my Mystery box giveaway post asking if you could still play since you are in Canada - of course you can as I am in Canada too so it would save me on shipping....however, you did not turn on your email in your profile, or leave it in the comment, so right now this is the I can contact you. Email me your correct email at k dot murray at sympatico dot ca so that if you do win, I will be able to get a hold of you :)
