one thousand two hundred and thirty eight

That's how many times I have used potty-related sentences today. You think I'm exaggerating? Okay, maybe you're right. It was only one thousand two hundred and thirty seven times.

"Malia -- remember, no peeing in your panties."

"Malia -- are your panties still dry?"

"Joelle -- can you get Malia another pair of panties?"

"Malia -- remember to tell Mommy when you have to go pee."

"Malia -- do you have to go potty?"

"Joelle -- I need another pair of panties please."

"Malia -- in a few minutes we're going to go sit on the potty again."

"Joelle -- are there any more panties upstairs for Malia?"

I am exhausted! I had forgotten just how time-consuming potty-training actually is! Malia had 4 accidents before noon already. Once on her chair, once by the coffee table, once by the craft drawers and once during our tea party.

Sigh...

But after 12:00 noon, things seemed to improve. She went to the potty three times (and once was completely on her own) and she was still dry when I put her in a diaper for her nap.

And once she wakes up from her nap, Les should be home. And then it's his turn!

I'm clocking out!!

(for those of you who are interested, I'll be posting little updates on my sidebar titled "Operation: Panties". That way I can still keep you all slightly informed without having to do entire posts on this every day)

I tell ya, wait until it's warm outside and just let them train themselves outside!!! NO mess to clean up -- EVER!

That's funny that you started the same day as I did. I actually just woke up this morning and thought to myself, I'm home today and only have Aidan this morning so let's see how ready she is. Today is a trial day. If all goes well, which it seems to be, we'll continue. Good luck with Malia. Hopefully it's going to get easier.

Hang in there- those first few days are always the hardest. She will get the hang of it! With Ashlyn, I just put her on the potty a lot and (shh! don't tell!) I let her watch tv while she sat on her little potty. She was rewarded when she went potty and we did a little pee pee dance and song- we called daddy's cell and told him the good news, all that good stuff that you are doing already. Just hang in there! (Now if Malia is night time trained before Ashlyn - I will be SO jealous!)

I'm thinking of you my dear friend! I know I haven't emailed and have been a total slacker friend lately! Just know I think of you each and every day and I will be hoping for the best with the potty training!

Hope tomorrow is better, remember it's a learning process... 3 steps forward 1 step back!

Oh, I am feeling much compassion for you today. As much as I loved being a mommy (and still do), I really, really didn't enjoy potty training. I know the end result is great, though. I wish you much patience and success.

LOL! I feel your pain...I always find it humerous that prior to having children, I would have never had a serious conversation with another adult about panties and peeing in the potty. Specifically how excited I am to see it happen!

Hang in there.....

LOL. I envy you and your soon to be "diaper-free" days. I feel like our home will never NOT know the joy of an empty Huggies box.

Oh, just hang in there. Sometimes I miss those days ... they seemed so simple! :)

When I worked in day care with toddlers and worked on potty training I remember how hard it was with the constant reminders. It'll get better soon!

Those first few days are not fun. Lyndsy started thinkng it was fun to get new panties so on like the 2nd or 3rd day I let her stay in the wet ones for a while. That turned things around real quick!

Best Wishes! We're having such a hard time with little Feisty - she's way past time to be done with this stuff, but the UTI's have really wreaked havoc on her progress.

New pictures going up tomorrow!

Just keep pluggin' along girlfriend. I remember how exhausting it was with Kezia...man the potty consumed our entire week! And then the entire month! But it gets better and sooner or later, you will be a diaper free house. C'mon Malia, make Mama proud!
