random recipes ~ lunch edition

The recipe I am posting for today's edition of Pam's Random Recipe exchange isn't really a lunch recipe. It's more of a brunch recipe (heck...we had it for supper last week, so really it's an any-time-of-day recipe!).

Without further is my recipe for Waffles and White Waffle Sauce:


1 2/3 cups flour

4 tsp baking powder

sprinkle of salt

2 eggs (separated)

1 2/3 cups milk

6 tbsp melted margarine

Beat the egg whites until they have standing peaks; set aside for later. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl, add the egg yolks, milk and margarine. Beat until smooth. Then take the beaten egg whites and gently fold them in.


1/4 cup sugar

2 tbsp corn starch

2 cups milk

1 tsp vanilla

Heat 1 1/2 cups of milk and sugar almost to boiling. Add corn starch to 1/2 cup milk. Heat until thickened. Add 1 tsp vanilla.

Once the waffles are made in your waffle-maker, pour the white sauce over your waffles, and top with your favorite fruit -- blueberries, strawberries, raspberries....or a combination!

wow! that looks amazing! we just love waffles...if Kris & I need to talk over supper, we'll have waffles. the kids are too busy eating...gotta love fav meals! great picture too!
